KABO DIAMOND MOSEKI APPOINTED DEPUTY PS-OPERATIONS AT LOCAL GOVERNMENT MINISTRY

    One of Botswana’s highly regarded thought leaders, intellect and strategist, Kabo Diamond Moseki has recently been appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs. Moseki has served in various capacities in the civil society and private sector and has represented Botswana on numerous occasions in international forums.

    Mr. Kabo Diamond Moseki (BA, MA, MSc, PRINCE2®)Deputy Permanent Secretary – OperationsMr. Kabo Diamond Moseki has been appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary – Operations. He joins the Ministry from the Botswana Country Coordinating Mechanism for the Global Fund Grants (BCCM), where he served as Executive Secretary, providing executive stewardship to the Secretariat of Botswana’s multi-stakeholder governance platform for the P240 million biennial TB/HIV grant from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

    Mr. Moseki is a distinguished development executive with two decades of multi-sectoral leadership across the public sector, civil society, academia, international development, and the private sector. His contributions span Botswana, Malawi, and the United Kingdom, positioning him at the intersection of national, regional, and global policy arenas. He has represented Botswana at numerous strategic fora and contributed to initiatives of continental and global significance.

    An accomplished strategist and systems thinker, Mr. Moseki brings deep expertise in public health governance, social policy, gender programming, youth development, and human rights, with a strong focus on community-centered development, inclusion, and social justice. Throughout his career, he has consistently driven impactful programs, mobilized resources, and built resilient partnerships that have strengthened Botswana’s development architecture.His leadership credentials are anchored in robust competencies in governance, strategic management, program and project leadership, risk management, institutional strengthening, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and high-level negotiations.

    Mr. Moseki holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology from the University of Botswana, a Master of Arts (MA) in International Development Management from the University of Bradford (UK), and a Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Management from the University of Derby (UK). His portfolio of executive education includes a Postgraduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management (Botswana Accountancy College), a Management Development Programme (Stellenbosch University), a Certificate in Strategic Management (UNISA), and a Certificate in Human Resources Management (North-West University).

    He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree at Leeds Law School (UK) and an Executive Development Programme at Wits Business School (South Africa).Further, Mr. Moseki is a certified PRINCE2® Practitioner and holds specialist certifications in Public Policy, Governance and Leadership (Africa University & OSISA), Civic Leadership (Rutgers University), and Public Participation (International Association for Public Participation).

    He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship (2014) and was awarded the Chevening Scholarship (2016) for his Master’s studies, where he was recognized for academic excellence.Mr. Moseki’s leadership philosophy is anchored in advancing transformative public value through inclusive partnerships, responsive governance, and citizen-centered service delivery. He has a longstanding commitment to volunteerism and has served with the Botswana Red Cross Society, SOS Children’s Villages Botswana, and the Kalahari Conservation Society. He has been instrumental in establishing platforms that bridge state and non-state actors in pursuit of sustainable development and social cohesion.

    Mr. Moseki remains deeply committed to Botswana’s socio-economic transformation, aligning his work to the aspirations of Vision 2036, the National Development Plan 12, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the African Union Agenda 2063.
