Boko Calls for Discipline and Action as BNF Concludes Jwaneng Conference

The Botswana National Front (BNF) has concluded its 61st National Conference in Jwaneng with a renewed commitment to party unity, constitutional reform, and the implementation of policies aimed at improving the lives of Batswana. Delegates from across the country gathered over two days to deliberate on the party’s future direction and adopt a series of resolutions.

Delivering the keynote address, BNF President and Head of State, Duma Boko, urged party members to remain united and disciplined as they work to fulfil the promises made to the nation. He noted that the conference marked an important opportunity to strengthen the party, deepen internal democracy, and ensure that the government remains focused on delivering meaningful socio-economic transformation for all citizens.

Leader of the House Moeti Mohwasa also addressed the delegates, emphasising the need for collective leadership, accountability, and continued engagement with communities. He encouraged members to support the implementation of government programmes while safeguarding the founding values and principles of the BNF.

The conference adopted several resolutions intended to strengthen party structures, improve organisational efficiency, and support policy implementation. Delegates also endorsed continued constitutional reform within the party, enhanced grassroots mobilisation, and stronger engagement with young people and women as part of efforts to broaden participation in national development.

The gathering attracted regional attention, with South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema attending as a guest. His presence highlighted the growing cooperation between progressive political movements in the region.

As delegates departed Jwaneng, the prevailing message was one of unity, discipline, and determination. Party leaders expressed confidence that the resolutions adopted at the conference would strengthen the BNF and support the government’s efforts to build a more inclusive, prosperous, and democratic Botswana.
