Through a post-launch community outreach initiative following the official opening of the Duma Boko Primary School in Block 7, African Hero has donated hundreds of footballs to local media houses for distribution to grassroots and vulnerable communities. As part of this drive, this digital media house, The 2nd Republic, received a consignment of 200 footballs to support youth development and sports engagement across the country.
In a collaborative effort to support inclusive community development, The 2nd Republic partnered with the Donald Keakile Foundation to hand over the first batch of 100 footballs primarily to two key institutions in Ramotswa: the Ramotswa Centre for the Deaf and the Thuto Boswa Rehabilitation Centre, a specialized facility catering to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The balance of the balls will thereafter be donated to schools.
The donation aims to promote physical well-being, play, and social inclusion for learners with special needs, echoing the core philosophy articulated during the African Hero launch—that all children, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserve dedicated spaces and resources to enjoy their childhood. Representatives from both recipient centers expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the sports equipment will greatly enhance recreational activities and physical therapy programs for their students.
